Actually managed to get away on time this morning, which is somewhat amazing seeing as my wife has an aversion to early mornings. As with most of our recent trips it's raining , but none the less we are staying in beautiful surroundings. Tonight's plan is to head to Hathersage to meet up with Pete for a bite to eat. For now Elizabeth is having a spa treatment and I'm in the bar! Who could ask for more
Sunday
Woke up to rain again. Decided to make our way to Buxton this morning. I've got to say I was a little disappointed with the town, not much to it really. The Pavillion gardens were nice however and I'm sure would have been even better had the weather been nicer. At around midday we decided to head back via Chatsworth and for the first time the sun made an appearance. No matter how many times you see it that building is still impressive. Lunch was spent at Cintra's in Hathersage and the cream tea was very tasty. Next on the agenda was a stroll along the top of Stanage. The views from the top were superb. The sun had quickly dried the rock out and there were quite a few groups at the popular end making the most of the Bank Holiday weather. I think we're heading to The Plough for tonight's meal and hopefully wrapping up the evening with a Crabbies at the hotel bar!

Monday
We are heading home today but not before visiting the Hope Show. We are up and out by 9.30am and things are already in full flow when we arrive. There was loads to see from sheep dog trials, gun dog displays, vintage tractors and not to mention all the livestock. A great day out and the place was absolutely packed out. Best bit was when the commentator announced the Laurel & Hardy look- a-likes as Haurel and Lardy.
